Young Researchers Overseas Day

Welcome to

Young Researchers Overseas Day

The Young Researchers Overseas' Day is aimed at researchers younger than 40 who are working overseas. Their fields of interest should fit into the scientific disciplines of the 3 sections of the Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences: human sciences, natural and medical sciences and technical sciences. The Young Researchers' Day is an opportunity for young researchers in different disciplines working in different geographical areas to meet, discuss, exchange ideas, discover the richness of multidisciplinarity and learn more about the Academy.

Welcome Letter to the fourth Young Researchers Overseas Day

Dear Colleagues,

On Tuesday, 15 December 2020, the fourth Young Researchers Overseas' Day is organized by the Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences (RAOS).

The Academy is an independent, multidisciplinary, national and international forum supporting science in overseas countries. It is a meeting place and a space for debate between scientists from North and South. It contributes to the promotion of research and the dissemination of knowledge concerning overseas countries both in these countries and in Belgium.

The biennial Young Researchers Overseas' Day is aimed at researchers younger than 40 who are working overseas. Their fields of interest should fit into the scientific disciplines of the 3 sections of the Academy: human sciences, natural and medical sciences and technical sciences. The Young Researchers' Day is an opportunity for young researchers in many different disciplines working in many different geographical areas to meet one another, discuss, exchange ideas, discover the richness of multidisciplinarity and know more about the Academy (www.kaowarsom.be) and its activities.

Since this edition of the Young Researchers Overseas’ Day need to be organized virtually, we adapted the operating method for the 2020 edition. Instead of conventional oral sessions in a conference room and of poster sessions in which young researchers could present their ongoing work in an interactive way, we conceived a procedure that will guarantee as good as possible the same degree of communication between the speaker and the audience and that will guarantee the same exchange facilities in the best possible way in a web conference environment.

Join us at the first virtual Young Researchers Overseas’ Day!
